The Position:

Position General Summary:

The Senior Research Strategist, Consumer Intelligence and Insights is responsible for developing and producing research and analytics support for Leadership at Florida Virtual School. The Senior Research Strategist, Consumer Intelligence and Insights will support planning and executing quantitative and qualitative research studies, to determine customer behavior and trends. The Senior Research Strategist, Consumer Intelligence and Insights will serve as a department resource, senior expert, and primary contact on consumer research studies.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Develop and lead customer insights research projects including following through on study design, creation of various tools and study materials, deployment, data capture, analysis, reporting, and presentation of findings

  • Develop and manage quantitative and qualitative primary research studies with an analysis of customer perceptions and behavior

  • Provide marketing and product strategy the analysis and reporting to enable Florida Virtual School to develop and refine strategies to meet customer needs, increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, and maximize sales and profits

  • Communicate with business departments any data and reporting needs required for customer insights research studies

  • Explain and translate complex concepts into meaningful insights and action for business stakeholders in oral and visual formats

  • Analyze survey data, both quantitative and qualitative, to provide actionable recommendations for continuous operations and performance improvement to leaders at all levels of the organization. This involves integrating disparate data sources, including both survey and operational data, and using the appropriate statistical methods for analyses

  • Build and produce regular or ad hoc reports for executive leaders from survey data

  • Dedicate time to customer research innovation and quality improvement

  • Monitor secondary research sources and integrate findings for consumer trends, industry trends, brand/product/category developments, and competitive intelligence

  • Develop study design and method selection, questionnaire/discussion guide development, survey programming and testing, data collection and quota completion, data processing, analysis, and results interpretation

  • Synthesize data from different sources/methods (secondary data, primary research, consumer sentiment, cultural trends, etc.) to develop a holistic picture of the consumer problem/opportunity for senior leadership

  • Assess the information needs of the organization and ensure that (historical and present) consumer insights are easily accessible/archived  

  • Coordinate project schedule development, confirm schedule, and monitor project schedule, ensuring that both the timetable and the objectives are met

  • Author research tools such as discussion guides or questionnaires, develop criteria for materials that need to be created by other departments, conduct interviews or group discussions, conduct analyses, create reports, and present findings as needed

  • Keep manager advised of the status of all assigned research projects

  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Research, Statistics, Behavioral Sciences, or related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a research role, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in primary consumer research project management or analysis/reporting preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):

  • Love spending time with datasets, extracting meaning, and constructing a story from them

  • Advanced knowledge of statistics, quantitative methods, and data analysis (including descriptive, multivariate, and nonparametric statistics)

  • Experience with sampling theory

  • Strong data analysis, project management, relationship building, and communication skills

  • Thrive in fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and matrixed accountability structures

  • Able to explain and translate complex concepts into meaningful insights and action for business stakeholders in oral and visual formats

  • Ability to work with stakeholders from business areas

  • Knowledge of Dashboarding software such as Power Bi, Tableau etc.

  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience with statistics and survey software

  • Skills to interpret research needs, determine and implement appropriate methodologies and communicate findings
